Black History Month Series
2019 Black Student Entrepreneur features
Every year since I started my business, I highlight Black entrepreneurs for Black History Month. I started doing it while in college in 2019, doing a 1 minute feature on fellow Black student entrepreneurs on my campus. My business’s audience was primarily based on Instagram so I needed each feature to fit within Instagram’s 1 minute video time frame.
Then in 2020, IGTV came around so I increased the features to 2 minutes each, and I included behind the scenes footage of the entrepreneurs in action with their business.
In 2021, I’m going to thread the features together in the form of a mini documentary called “Ownership” to tell a story on how young Black entrepreneurs and the importance of buying Black to decrease the wealth gap in America.
